MAKING IT WORK

Go set your alarm and lay out everything you need for your morning workout.  Working out at the same time every day may help you improve more quickly, research has shown that people who exercise in the morning are more likely to stick with their workout than those who exercise later in the day.

PROPER PREPARATION

There’s an urban legend that it takes 21 days for something to become a habit, but there’s little evidence to back up this claim!!! Proper Preparation

START EASY, THEN TUNE UP

So you tried jogging and you hated it, or you hurt yourself on your first day of situp. That doesn’t mean that all forms of fitness aren’t for you. Start small, then tune up

Many thanks to @ninekaymaternity for hosting me even though we ended up on my page. thanks to @zinnyslifestyle who came to the rescue when we couldn’t go live on @ninekaymaternity’s page. Plenty kisses to you Dr 😚😚😚😚 you are amazing.

We had a great time sharing, learning and laughing together as we talked about keeping fit during and after pregnancy and here are a few things we discussed…

✔ Every mom deserves to rock a beautiful body at any phase (pregnant, nursing, waiting to conceive and done with childbirth)
✔You can exercise during pregnancy…in fact there are tons of benefits…your body get your body back faster and recovery from CS is quicker
✔Make sure to check for diastasis recti (DR) before you begin any form of exercise after delivery and while pregnant (if you have given birth before). DR is not a disease, it’s the separation of the abdominals muscles and if not properly handled it can result in a weak or damaged pelvic
✔You can engage in core exercises during pregnancy. The core consist of the abdominals, hips, buttocks, back and pelvic muscles. Watch the replay to learn how to engage your core.
✔As you progress with pregnancy, your workout routine needs to be modified to accommodate changes in your body.
✔To begin an exercise program, start slowly (e.g 15 mins walk 2-3 times a week) and gradually build up the intensity, frequency and duration. For Preggies, aim for a max of 45mins…make sure to include strength training workouts
✔Rather than eat for two, eat healthy…you dint need extra calories in your first trimester…you need 300-500 calories in your second and third trimester. Eat more fruits, veggies, protein and complex carbs. Be sure to take milk esp plant based…tigernut, almond, coconut.
✔Before you begin any form of exercise especially during oregnancy and after delivery make sure to consult your doctor.

There’s so much more we talked about…make sure to watch the replay 👆👆👆👆👆

Cheers to a Fitter, Healthier & Happier you.
